    Smartwatch replaces the pad?

Anyone tried a microsoft band 2? it has built in GPS. I don't know if you can use GPS and stopwatch at the same time though.

would any of you have cautioned?

debate the hypothetical situation of you cautioning a 15 year old who then keels over and has an asthma attack... they are called laws because they can be interpreted.... for example. 2 people go to court, same offence (i'll let you chose the offence in this hypothetical situation), different...

would any of you have cautioned?

yeah but it wasnt under 18s and he wasnt being assessed. common sense approach to someone in difficulty... or caution the kid who then falls to the floor and has an asthma attack.... you judge the situation on its merits and use a bit of common sense... or dont you have any?

Contentious decision: What would you do?

No need to give the lad stick... He's come on for advice and the best some of you can do is ridicule him. I didn't know you were all perfect, or that you never made a mistake in you life. some of you are pathetic. No wonder i'm getting sick of this site. its supposed to be a forum where like...

    you can't shout leave it

This happens every week to me seriously. I had one junior team manager in a pre-season friendly a few months ago who told me i was wrong not to give a free kick for "leave it" with no one near the player as it rolled out for a throw in, until he was blue in the face.. (its an expression) I...

    I'm useless with words

Just a quick update for you all.... i adapted my 'toss talk' to include "i do not take kindly to any sort of dissent and if I see or hear any i will be doing something about it. lets not have any stupid tacklesetc etc, enjoy the game" the first time i done that speech i had a player comment...

    35 seconds

nothing wrong with a bit of common sense brian and i personally would use a very similar approach. i come on here for advice but when i see people calling other referees and ramming a book down their throat it reminds me of everything thats wrong with the game and makes me not want to bother...

    I'm useless with words

sorry lads been quite busy with work and a couple of games over the weekend. i really do appreciate all the feedback and i certainly will be trying to put the advice in to practice. just to clarify the statement i gave was just a random example amd not something i would be saying to everyone on...

    I'm useless with words

Thanks regalref. I try to pick up on names if i can before ive even had a decision to make. I find calling people by their name helps. I think your point about slowing the game down is a very valid point and I will use this as and when required this coming weekend. Come to think of it, on sunday...

    I'm useless with words

Admin i wasnt sure what section to put thid in so please feel free to move it if there is a more appropriate section. I'm looking for a bit of advice on two fronts. First of all as the title says I'm useless with words. what I mean by that is, whenever I call a player over for a warning I...

    Helicopter on the pitch

We literally see and hear a big yellow thing approaching and luckily enough the ball went out for a goal kick so we all moved and then restarted when it flew off!

"OFFINABUS" or "delay that taxi" ...?

All of you obviously don't know the meaning of the word "racist"... A term can only be classed as racist if the person it is aimed at perceives it as racist. Now on a football pitch, using that word places you on dodgy ground no matter what however it can only be considered racist if the target...

    Helicopter on the pitch

Today i had to stop my match whilst an air ambulance landed on the pitch. it happens quite often as the pitch is round the corner from alder hey childrens hospital and they have an abulance waiting to take the over thenroad. I just wondered what is the strangest thing you have had to stop a game for

    Red card following final whistle

Hi Ryan, as the actual card is a communication tool you dont technically have to show the card to be able report it. but I would say that you would need to communicate in some way that you will be issuing a dismissal and/or a misconduct report. did you tell him?
