    Junior/Youth "Stop the game ref!"

Yeah, the main reason I made this thread was because I got a bit of stick from the manager and some parents because a kid had decided to tie his laces while the other team attacked and it almost lead to a goal being scored. I had to politely explain that I couldn't just stop the game like that...

    Newcastle Vs Palace

If it was a defender near his own area then you would expect him to go for a challenge, but an attacker that is near his opponents area you probably wouldn't, I was more talking about the situation. That's just my interpretation but others probably have a different one.

    Junior/Youth "Stop the game ref!"

Generally in play, but a couple have been for me to delay a goal kick or throw in.

    Newcastle Vs Palace

I would say that it could be argued for either red or yellow (orange?) apart from that it was an attacker that made the challenge near his opponents penalty area, so he hasn't really needed to go for the tackle like that, and that for me makes it excessive.

    Junior/Youth "Stop the game ref!"

Hi guys, In almost all of the 10 games I have reffed so far this season, at some point in the game (usually as a goal kick is being taken) there is a shout of "Stop the game ref!" for someone doing their laces. Am I right in not stopping it? My reasoning (without finding it in the laws after a...

Caution Reporting on The Whole Game

This may not be entirely relevant but when I did mine I had to select the parent club (e.g. No-one Fc) and then the offshoot (e.g. No-one Fc U11s) before I could continue to the next page. This applies to both teams. Hope you sort it soon!

Junior/Youth Just Completed My First Game

It was an U11's League cup match. I'm not totally sure what was wrong with him, but he was back playing after the incident.

Junior/Youth Just Completed My First Game

On this occasion it was about 5 yards from the line and it wasn't until she had run on that I was informed by the away manager that she was the Physio. Is this something I should've checked beforehand? I did feel at the time that it was just an excuse to check if her son was OK but if the...

Junior/Youth Just Completed My First Game

The parent came on from the other side of the pitch (not the technical area), with her defence being "what if he was dying?". I told her to take him off the pitch, and talked to her and the away manager at half time (I went to talk to him and she was already there) and told her that she needs to...

Junior/Youth Just Completed My First Game

Just reffed my first game since completing my course, and to my surprise it went really well! I had spent quite a lot of time preparing so i was confident in my pre-match routine, but I was still fairly nervous. There were a couple of incidents that I had to deal with. One was one of the...

    Starting to Ref

Hi everyone, I am due to start my Refereeing course on August 16th in Lincolnshire which is also my 14th birthday so I will probably be the youngest one there! I have been attending the East Riding (where I live) referee's association meetings as a guest since around October so I have been...
