Definitely recommend getting some lines in on the leagues that will let you.
I have done (ignore my signature at the bottom it's so out of date) about 12 lines this season on the Wilts Senior League (and a few senior cup games) and have learnt so so much from experienced officials. Even little...
So I’m guessing the only way to fulfill the blood pressure requirement for the fitness test is either pay for a private GP appointment or somehow negotiate the gauntlet of NHS GP triage and persuade them to use public money on it?
Any other alternatives would be welcome! Pharmacists count or no?
Thanks :) not sure if it’s because I’m on the pathway or if my county have put my name up now there’s a realistic prospect of me getting it?
Heard nothing from the FA all season and then a flurry of emails this last month about fitness tests and this evening in June
Been invited to a selection evening for 3w/3w-2w in June.
I’ve been told there’s a practical and technical element but otherwise no info.
What should I expect from the evening? Unlike the fitness test there doesn’t seem a lot of info out there about them.
Not sure of the level but unless there is some kind of appeal that requires you to give evidence you’ll likely not hear much about this again personally.
It’ll be dealt with by the CFA and in your situation I’d consider asking not to ref them again to avoid the hassle
Agree with the above it's hard to really find and prove fault to undo and perceived injustice here.
I have always flagged immediately any personal relationships I have with a team, not matter the level, if I am appointed to a game where that's relevant. E.g. a team I had left the season before...
Grim reading, I’ve got a lot of family in the town where this happened and the video is just shocking. It’s a child and he sucker punches him

We've discussed at length the issues with self bought body cams not being possible.
But given that comms are permitted in a lot of leagues, could you feasibly justify wearing a mic?
My personal motivation would be evidence in the event of any abuse/extraordinary report worthy stuff, but it...
Yeah all my "playing" boots are modern and falling apart after a season or two.
My reffing boots are the old school adidas ones and have held up well after 3 seasons
Seen this tweet and it gave me a chuckle:
I’m exactly the kind of official to do this and only haven’t because of worries about how it would be perceived. Would be interested in others takes on this, I assume the AR has done some international games hence the flag? Could even have been given...
It’s not just OFFINABUS, it’s discriminatory language and the ref isn’t alone in being disgracefully inadequate in identifying and reporting (and punishing where appropriate!) ableist language.
I became a ref in part because a referee failed to report when I flagged that I had been called a...
I have offered and been an AO before. I’m attached to my phone like most under 30s so I reply quickly and keep my availability updated when I get a county cup game straight away.
Of course I don’t expect the same from someone volunteering and managing 100 people so I don’t chase until it’s...
