I think about that concept all the time and I'm a bit on the fence!
On one hand, 75 for a 'perfect' performance on an average game doesn't seem fair, but on the other hand, it does differentiate between the referees who then go on to have an excellent performance on an extremely challenging...
Thanks guys!
He did mention that I didn't caution a player for persistence, but at the time I didn't realise he was talking about the one I actually had cautioned!
I'm obviously happy with the narrative, as all I was pulled on was my signals, and if a supply league assessor is telling me that...
Forgot to add, I didn't actually caution anybody for dissent in the game. I cautioned 'red 3' for his third foul i.e. persistent infringement. Obviously he was arguing with me about the caution, so maybe that's why the assessor thought it was for dissent, but in one section his narrative says I...
My assessment from Saturday....
Slightly disappointed with the mark considering what's written in the narrative. I was assessed twice last year (7-6) and got an 82 and a 79.
How does 71 compare with an 'average' assessment?
:)
Official or not, the 'old' signal I referred to was used by ARs at all levels of football, leading the FA to issue the statement regarding it along with guidelines as to the signal that should be adopted from now forward.
Which leads me back to the point that the 'problems' they say are...
What do we think of the new 'guidelines'?
IMO the FA guidelines contradict themselves and to be honest they don't make sense.

"Use of the signal draws unnecessary attention to the assistant referee which can create dissent and management problems. It...
I meant what is the problem with the old signal?

You mean the removal of the flag across the chest?
Off the record (probably not the best writing it on a public forum haha), I brief my assistants to use the flag across the chest regardless. Everyone knows what it means, there is no confusion, so what is the problem?!
Correct advice by the AR to dismiss for DOGSO by handling?
Really on the fence with this one.... I think if this happened during one of my games I wouldn't even think to bring out a red, but after seeing it happen, I'm leaning closer to it being a correct decision.
Thoughts...?
I had to do this a couple of weeks back as part of the Lancs FA assessment evening to get on the development group. Ours was over 20m and a lot harder than it looks when you set out on to the field!
Got to 16.8 and a place on the group, so pretty happy with that!
