Think I'm struggling to get close to the marks as already on assessment 4 and get 5 tomorrow.
I know my score for this.
But would be interested in your views on this beforehand:

Assessors must complete as advised in the “Assessor Guide”.
1. Application of Law:

It was good to see you administer the “ Respect Handshake “.You correctly penalised a total of 11 infringements. 4 against APM ( 58,75,80 & 83 minutes) and 7 against LNHW ( 3,4,5,22,69,70 & 76 minutes ). However you did not penalise 3 infringements against APM (51, 53 & 83 minutes) and 1 against LNHW (65 minute). You correctly awarded 2 penalty kicks, 1 to APM (54 minute) and 1 to LNHW (60 minute). You correctly issued one red card to LNHW no.4 for denying the opposing team a goal by deliberately handling the ball. The APM no.7 should have been cautioned for his reckless challenge (76 minute). With the aid of your club assistance you correctly awarded 12 offside offences and overruled an assistance flag in the 33rd minute. In the 39th minute you correctly penalised a high kick but did not raise your arm to indicate it was an indirect free kick.

2. Match Control:

You remained calm and unflustered throughout the game and used preventative communication at times to assist your match control. However, your tolerance of dissent was too high. You did adopt the stepped approach when dealing with players which was good as this is considered best practise. You got the “key match incidents correct. Notably the 2 penalties, 1 dismissal and goals.

3. Positioning, Fitness and Work rate:

Your fitness was not truly tested as you kept at a constant pace throughout. However this did leave you short of where you needed to be to make credible decisions. In the 17, 22, 27, 35,41,49,66,72,76,88 7 89 minutes you were in excess of 20 meters from play when making decisions. On several of these occasions it invited dissent from the players. You need to sprint into deep areas when play dictates so that your decision making can be confident and credible. At start of play and at restarts after goals you should be in the attacking half of the field to the left of the ball. Thus putting yourself in the optimum position for the next stage of play. At corners try not to go to deep as this makes it difficult for you to recover when the ball is cleared.

4. Alertness and Awareness, including management of stoppages:

You kept alert throughout the game. Aware of other balls on the pitch but not interfering with play. Moved a spectator from close proximity to the goal. Dealt with all injured players ensuring they received treatment if required and then ensured they left the field of play. On substitutions you must ensure that the player going off has left the field of play before allowing the substitute on at the half way line.

5. Communication:

You commenced the game with a good clear loud whistle. As already mentioned you spoke to players (quiet word) and used preventative communication. However your signals need to be clearer and more decisive. To assist you in selling your decisions and thus reducing dissent.

6. Teamwork:

It was good to see you brief your club assistants prior to the start of the game. Their involvement was positive and acknowledged by you. The APM club assistant was changed (64 minute) and you did not brief the new assistant.

7. Advantage:

You played 4 advantages (11, 13, 44 & 63 minutes) using the correct signal and words. It was pleasing to see that the advantage played in the 11th minute resulted in a goal for LNHW.

Good reading.
How do you feel about the comment of lower your tolerance level? I understand what he's saying but this can sometimes be hard to put into practice. We are only Human.

Quite simply, book them earlier!

Dictionary definition of dissent is "To disagree with a decision or instruction" so you have plenty of room to work in when selling a card for dissent.
