50/50 then Reckless Challange

At last nights game, there was a 50/50 ball. Both players went in hard and one of them came off worse than the other, with what I deemed as a potential serious injury so I stopped the game for physio to come on. However, just one/two seconds after I had blown the whistle, the ball had rebounded and there was another 50/50 and one of the players went in with a tackle which could potentially have merited a yellow.

Although I had already stopped the game, could I have taken action against the second tackle?

Yes, I have cautioned before if a reckless challenge goes in after the whistle has gone, whether its wrong in law I don't know?

Yep, although if play has been stopped I'm not sure you could put it in as Reckless Tackle, but maybe 'endangering safety'.
