The player was shown his marching orders by the ref and in return, shot the official dead whilst also shooting another player, aged 25, in the chest. Tragically the ref, named locally as César Flores, a 48-year-old, succumbed to his injuries but the other player, Walter Zárate, was seriously injured but after being rushed to hospital is said to be out of danger.
According to the Mirror , the unnamed player, who is still at large, was shown red for flooring an opponent during the game. The paper continues to report the local police claim the man being sought for the fatal shooting had the gun in his backpack and ran onto the pitch as the game was continuing before he shot the referee three times, hitting him in the head, chest and neck.
