Footballers are never really known as the brightest of sparks, but Burnley's O'Shea has to be a candidate for one of the quickest and most stupid yellow cards of the season. Within the first 30 seconds of the game, O'Shea knocks the ball out of play and into the crowd and his momentum takes him towards the crowd. As the Bournemouth player picks up one of the spare multi balls to take the throw, O'Shea runs from behind him and heads the ball out of the Bournemouth players hand

Burnley annoyed and understandably so as Bournemouth's Tavanier kicks the ball away from a Burnley player as he is about to pick the ball up for a throw in, no card shown on this occasion by referee David Coute. Burnley's manager Vincent Company was not happy.

It's this kind of lack of consistency in decisions that winds up players, managers and fans alike.
