They were responding with an outcome to my scenario where that didn't happen..
Suppose they could've thought I was asking if you can give a penalty after stopping play outside the penalty area

What I've gleaned from the replies is they (she/him/it etc) consider it to two separate offences. You play advantage from the initial pull, and then it's another offence when the enter the penalty area.

Obvious follow-up.

Initially it's DOGSO at the start of the pull, you downgrade to yellow card for the advantage. As they enter the penalty area it's now a promising attack
Can you give a double yellow?

I dont think they would take it too kindly if you have too many follow ups. And IMO they would be right. It's like a player coming to you for a question after a game and we are usually ok to answer it. But too many follow up questions are usually not welcomed as they would sould more like alternate motive.

For me it is a grey area and there is no definitive answer. There are many of them in laws.

The oracular nature of many of the pronouncements are frustrating. I don’t think the IFAB answer is right. Sure, maybe I’m just bullheaded, but without any explanation, it’s hard to apply—are they really envisioning the same play I am? And without explanation, it gives no way to think about how to apply on other situations.
