Correct decision...?

I think that this is a very straightforward question, but I can't quite get my head around the correct answer...

In my match at the weekend, blues had an attacking free kick just outside the penalty area. Ceremonial FK, walked wall back and told them to be careful about raising their arms particuarly as they were in the PA.
As blue took the kick, red player from the wall ran forwards and clearly blocked the ball from about 7 yards away. The ball went behind the goal line...

I cautioned the player for not being 10 yards, and had the FK retaken. Was this correct?? Or should it have been a IDFK from where the ball was blocked???

Thanks for replies...

Respecting 10 yards is something that is to occur before the ball is in play. Failing to respect the distance occurs before the ball is in play, so it's a retake.
If, however, the player had handled the ball you would have the option of considering the DFK instead as well as the caution - but the arms would have to be in an unnatural position at this distance.
