dangerous challenges

Hey guys whats your opinion.?
Defender dives in 2 footed off the ground but cleanly gets the ball player doesn't go down but was extremely close to catching the attacker who takes a slight jump back to avoid any contact.
Opinions ???

Red from me as the defender is not in control and therefore endangering the safety of his opponent.

Yup, has impeded the attacker with the 'style' of challenge, which was excessive from your description.

Nowhere in the law does it mention anything about getting the ball - if it is with excessive force (which, from you description, it sounds like it was) then you have to show red.
