Penalty awarded against MacArthur GK for a reckless foul after 45+change.

You won't hear any dispute from me that football expects yellow but, for the love of god, this is red in rugby.

Football's expectations constantly bemused me.

For me, as a referee one look, live, yellow card. If I was VAR recommend Red to the referee.

Red because of the elbow for me but potentially difficult to spot in real time so without VAR I'd be happy seeing the yellow produced.

I don’t see a foul. GK’s are allowed to go for the ball.

Just kidding. But given how often GKs don’t get called for fouls on these types of plays, I’m happy to see the foul and caution. But I agree red would be the better call.
