The answer I got when I asked was:

For charges involving physical contact with a match official, the participant receives a suspension from all football activities for a period ranging between 182 days and two years. When determining the sanction, the disciplinary commission will take into account the nature of the incident, whether the participant accepts or denies the charge, and their previous disciplinary history. The ban includes his suspension from 12 December so started then.

The other referee who was punched in the face the same weekend as my incident that player received a 5 year ban

Don't forget every CFA has Rule 215.B(iv) which states that they, and I paraphrase slightly, can:
Make up any old b*llocks and find another rule to justify it.

That sounds like a great result. My experience was somewhat less reassuring... player threw mud at me from his boot and it struck me in the face. I dismissed and filled out the relevant reports. He pled not guilty to assault but guilty to improper conduct towards a match official and county FA found him not proven for both (even the one he pled guilty to!) and called it an unfortunate accident 😂

Not to keep reactivating this thread but hilariously I'm told same player tried to play in a Vets 'friendly' and has now received a permanent ban... 🤷‍♂️
