The Ref Stop

How many games have we lost this weekend?

So...

Just wondered how many games you've had off this weekend?

I had 3 scheduled, one today, two tomorrow.

Today's was U18 Football League Academy and though the pitch was very soft it was like Wembley, as you would expect.

Tomorrow I have two - AM at a ground I haven't been to before, but the general area is clay based so one would assume that will be a no.

PM is at a college that specialises in Agriculture and runs courses for sports field preparation so again are pretty good (and sandy) so could go either way.

Won't be pleased if they're both off and I have to find excuses to get out of doing a load of jobs around the house instead.

What about everybody else?

Closed weekend, so personally, none. The District Competitions I have organised for this weekend have already lost three tomorrow and the Sunday League lost another.

Lost 3 this weekend, 1 today OA, notified at 9.01am, 2 tomorrow junior, notified today at 9.27am.
No footie on telly... So out in the man cave tinkering with bike.
Getting withdrawal symptoms

Saturday off...Expect Sunday to be a problem too, no rain here in London, but yesterday will probably have washed the lines away...

Main game off, but local Vets team very cleverly had pre-booked a reasonably local 3G pitch, so am going to tootle down and do a line for them.

4 scheduled games this weekend, 2 off and 2 on, enough to get a decent run out to be able to avoid being rusty

My County Cup game was called off Saturday AM - Saved me travelling at least!

My game yesterday was still on, although with the way it went, I wish it was off!

Meh, nothing great. Just one of those games where you wonder why you bother.

Away team were 3-0 down after 10 minutes, but it was my decision to give a penalty in the 2nd half that "ruined the game". Was slightly contentious I guess, as a player slid with his arms up in the penalty area, and the cross that was being played smacked him on the arms.

Just a load of grief given after that. Meh.

Fair enough. We've all been there. :)

I've lost a Senior Youth County Cup match (AR) tomorrow - scheduled for next week now.

Having said that club sec said a match was played on same pitch last night, with another to follow tonight!

As its a County Cup match, HAS to be played at some stage - suspect this one will run & run!

Lost my initial game for today yesterday, was given another one last night for today also and lost that this morning.

2 weeks in a row with no game now

I called mine off as 60% of the pitch as frozen, and half of that was very dangerous owing to it being exposed frozen tyre tracks!
Although looking at results about 95% of the 80 games in my youth league DID get played!
