Talking about marks... I turned up to a game two weeks ago.... As I walked onto the pitch to do the inspection.... The home team players were dragging their heals along the pitch. The pitch was wet and not in great condition (but playable)... They were using their heals to mark the lines!!! The council tried to use line marker before I arrived, it wouldn't take to the ground apparently. So, they dug their heals in and scraped the lines in!![]()
The interpretations of Law 1 say that it is not permissible to mark the field of play with broken lines or furrows. And I assume you didn't caution them for UB either. The home team players were dragging their heals along the pitch
I had an email the next day from my CFA saying about what a good job I done and that "common sense" prevailed. I'm not sure where that came from, but obviously it was good to hear.I did a game a few weeks back, 3G "multi purpose" pitch. It had Football markings, hockey and lacrosse with the football markings being in blue and the hockey in white and lacrosse in yellow. Talk about confusing!!
