Offside from goal kicks

Son is beginning offsides next season in his league. Am I right in telling him he can be offside from a goal kick and a kick from keepers hands?

Can't be offside from a goal kick, but can from a keeper's drop kick.

One way to remember is the OS exceptions are for the three restarts where the ball has left the field--GK/CK/TI.

Probably need to be clear on whose drop kick can they be offside on. If you are on opposing team of the keeper making the kick, you cannot be offside. If you are on same team as keeper making the kick, you can be offside. Given that the payer in question is just starting with the offside rule, I'd suspect the most likely scenario is that they will not be offside.
