Qualifying Games

Hi all, I completed my Referee Course back in August and I just wanted to clarify what constitutes as a qualifying game with regards to the initial 5 games that must be completed before being awarded a level 7. Does an AR assignment count towards one of the 5?

Not in my FA, I completed the games, logged them via centre circle and today got the certificate through (may not seem much but well chuffed)

Fair enough - I just quoted the FA rule on this point. Remember that if your appointments were not approved in advance by an Appointments Officer you leave yourself without insurance, etc., and at risk of refereeing non-sanctioned games.

As a Referee Developer, we tell all newly qualified referees about this issue.
Your Referee Development Officer will give you the local information relative to which games are approved in your area (e. g. some short-sided competitions are not sanctioned)
