Some of you may have seen my post on starting on a new league. I was nervous before my first game and I’m posting this not to gloat, but just because it really made my weekend receiving this from the referee secretary saying well done and copied this in from the away team captain. I fear the only way is down now and I should retire! For the record, there weren’t any controversial decisions. A few cards shown and a penalty. Wasn’t a tough match overall, but not a shrinking violet either.

“I would like to take a moment to commend the referee who officiated our match today. In my five years of playing for xxxxxxxxxxx FC, I can confidently say that this individual demonstrated the highest standard of officiating I have experienced at this level.

From the outset, the referee displayed excellent communication skills, a calm and respectful demeanor, and consistent decision-making throughout the game. His ability to manage the flow of the match, defuse tense situations, and maintain control without being overbearing significantly contributed to a positive and enjoyable experience for all players involved.

It is rare to encounter a referee who strikes such a fine balance between authority and approachability. If more officials conducted matches with this level of professionalism, integrity, and understanding of the game, it would the overall a much enjoyable day.

Please extend my thanks and appreciation to the referee for his outstanding performance. I hope to see more referees of this calibre appointed to future fixtures.

Kind regards,
Xxxxxxxxxxx
Xxxxxxxxxxx Captain”

I got that last week...

Ha that's great mate, superb feedback
Just so nice to get that isn’t it?. I’m used to abusive parents in a crappy league. Don’t get me wrong, they were challenging in their own way. My only gripe is lack of CAR.

A very long time ago, the club marks in my first game were very encouraging - a 10 and a 9 (before anyone comments, the marks were out of a maximum of 10!)
Great to see the response you got - onwards and upwards now👍
