Retired big bad baldy in all black!
Wow! Incredible end to the match. Sevilla equalise with 5 minutes of normal time left and put pressure on for a late winner. 7 minutes get added on. Sevilla corner gets cleared, Valencia counter attack and Valencia's Kluivert is tripped just outside the Sevilla area. He tries to stay on his feet and continues into the area and squares the ball for an onrushing team mate who is pushed from behind. Referee pulls play back for the earlier trip outside the area, defender red carded for DOGSO..... Referee is then advised by VAR to go to the screen. Referee reviews, cancels the initial red card, awards a penalty and red cards the defender guilty of the push

Sevilla players complaining, possibly believing the referee had already blown the for the earlier foul. Replays show referee had his whistle in his mouth for the foul, but audio seemed inconclusive due to the noise in the stadium. Can only assume he did delay to see if an advantage played out following the initial foul otherwise the overule wouldn't have been possible and he didn't see the push in the area.

Penalty taken with 101 minutes on the clock.. keepers saves it

Sevilla's manager was doing his best Klopp impression of berating the 4th official at every opportunity, went without any hint of repremand!

i dont buy that the 2nd red is dogso, IMO there's no way he's gets the pass, mainly as it was clearly aimed at the guy in the middle. that said, clearly a pen for the push

I'm inclined to agree - I don't think that's dogso either. Is it possible the receiver is offside in any case...?

I watched a vid on YouTube earlier with the highlights and no commentary. Audio was much clearer than the coverage last night. Guessing the referee in real time didn't believe the advantage had transpired, hence pulling it back for the original foul.

As with many professional leagues, high levels of dissent on and off the pitch seems to be the norm in La Liga!

He 100% is, but that's not the offence penalised (I think) it's the push in the back into the player running into the box

Feels a bit like VAR have tied themselves up in knots there, and the referee hasn't really helped by putting the whistle to his mouth.
