Don't see this very often. Penalty 1 saved but retaken for outfield encroachment, penalty 2 saved for keeper encroachment, penalty 3 saved legally (just about).

What is incredible is the commentator's complete lack of understanding around why the second penalty was retaken (you need audio on).

Historically I’d agree with you. But when you see the level of explanations we’ve had from PGMOL & Webb recently (granted this game isn’t PGMOL) it’s hard to bemoan commentators lack of wording or knowledge.

On the subject of commentators, I was driving home from carrying out an observation on Wednesday, listening to the latter stages of the Manchester City game on the usually sensible Radio Five.
The referee was asked to visit the screen for a possible penalty.
The City goalkeeper was then described as picking up the ball and running off the pitch to the technical area, carrying the ball with him
Commentator pointed out that the goalkeeper was already on a caution. Commentary then surmised that the goalkeeper had taken the ball in case the penalty was taken before he got back🤔
The co-commentator stated "Not sure about that"

Second one was spotted on field. Stick your flag up assistant referee, he started to run backwards initially.

He was so far off his line it should have been absolutely blatant that it was for keeper encroachment, but he was looking for outfield player encroachment. Had he known the law change he would have known that outfield players can only be penalised if they affect the play, and none clearly did here as the ball went straight out for a corner.

I know I know. But it’s hard to criticise non-referees wording/misunderstanding of law when we see the waffle their own X accounts put out
