Torres....

RegalRef

Politically Incorrect
So, Torres signs for AC Milan on a permanent basis while on a season long loan to the Italians from Chelsea.

Then 3 days later is sent on loan to his 'boyhood' club Athletico Madrid until the end of next season.

Any ideas?

It was announced a while back that it was happening.

He's going to Athletico on a free, but you cant loan a loan player, so Chelsea have to sign him over to AC, who can then loan him out (outside the transfer window) then he'll complete his free transfer when the window opens.

Its just a way for him getting there quicker - but there must be *SO* many caveats in his new contract...

Id laugh if Athletico end up not wanting him (if he turns up and is tosh) - and AC Milan are stuck with his wages (instead of Chelsea)

There must be so many get out of jail lines in his contract

Helps Chelsea's financial fair play a fair bit apparently. Means they can offset the cost of him all to one year and this year they will end up with a profit (if that makes sense). One of the Chelsea journalists is fairly sure that's the reason.

He never had a future at the club anyway so I think it's a good thing, hopefully he can find his feet at his old club.
