I said it before, and I'll say it again as a spurs fan. Simon Davies was a proper player. Great engine and could really strike a ball. Came to spurs as part of the deal with Matthew etherington and I was big fans of both players.

Lucky swine! You'll have to let me know what he's like. He always seemed a down to earth guy.

Closest refereeing brush with fame I had was a youth team being coach by an ex west ham striker. I think he played one game for them, although did have a decent journeyman career in lower leagues.
 
closest ive got to football fame is being wiped off the ball by Julian Dicks in a charity game...and playing on the same team as Dean Ashton (that man can hit a ball, retired or not!)

the closest to fame in refereeing terms...i refereed Tommy Walsh's sons cup semi final (from ground force) lol
 
Again!

I had them last round also.

(That cup game is beginning of November, so my end of October game referred to above is fine! Just got to prey I am not moved to a different game that week!)
