Why was the PK review shown to Pawson in slow motion only
From that angle, in slow motion, the ref was always going to give the spot kick, whilst in real time and on real-time replays, the incident looked innocuous at best
Not so much interested in whether it was a PK or not, but can someone tell me why this was reviewed in slow motion please, as we know the perils of doing so and I thought slow motion was not allowed for subjective incidents? Why does the refereeing community continue to make the Law up?

Series of points that may answer to you. Difficult to be exact but possibilities nonetheless.

1 . Was it only reviewed in slo-mo, or was that all the broadcaster picked up?

2. Maybe he asked for slo mo to check having seen already missed it in real time?

3. Choice made at the hub as “best angle” a la Rugby League TMO.

Perhaps Pawson thought the defender had played the ball in real time and the slow mo was used to show he hadn't?

Was it only reviewed in slo-mo
Yes, the Broadcaster had uninterrupted coverage of the review
One of those where the contact was trivial is real-time, even on replays, but was a cast iron PK when the dreaded slo mo was used
I'm not bothered about the decision. NUFC were well beaten. But the process of using slo mo was plain wrong. My understanding is that this is not how VAR should work
First and last time I pay the Box Office £15. Felt like I'd soiled myself, especially with VAR an ever-frequent intrusion. Need to have a word with myself

You could watch a certain Championship club instead - only £10 and no VAR! ;)

It's torturous having a devotion to a team in a game I can't stand!
It's no secret that I think the English Championship is the best league in the world, but I'll quite happily watch football at any level below that too

As a rule, slo-mo should only be used for factual errors. ‘Did the ball hit the hand?’ ‘Was the ball over the line?’ And the same with still images. It’s possible Pawson said something along the lines ‘I’m giving it but there’s no contact.’ And the VAR said ‘hi Craig, there is contact and here’s a slow-mo replay to help you pick it up.’ So actually it is* factual - did contact occur?

*assuming that scenario is correct

Exactly right. I'm perfectly open to the idea this is probably a screw-up - but unless we also get the audio of what was being told/asked for, we can't be sure.
