Makes me think about what baseball umpires say when asked about a tie between the runner and the ball. They say there is no such thing as a tie, one got there first. That's where I'm going with this rather than trying to worry about the discrepancy between the two parts of the language--ITOOTR, it either went a smidgen back or a smidgen forward, and that determines the call.I was assuming that sideways means literally sideways - no forward movement at all.
