Yeah, the main reason I made this thread was because I got a bit of stick from the manager and some parents because a kid had decided to tie his laces while the other team attacked and it almost lead to a goal being scored. I had to politely explain that I couldn't just stop the game like that...
If it was a defender near his own area then you would expect him to go for a challenge, but an attacker that is near his opponents area you probably wouldn't, I was more talking about the situation.
That's just my interpretation but others probably have a different one.
I would say that it could be argued for either red or yellow (orange?) apart from that it was an attacker that made the challenge near his opponents penalty area, so he hasn't really needed to go for the tackle like that, and that for me makes it excessive.

The parent came on from the other side of the pitch (not the technical area), with her defence being "what if he was dying?". I told her to take him off the pitch, and talked to her and the away manager at half time (I went to talk to him and she was already there) and told her that she needs to...
Just reffed my first game since completing my course, and to my surprise it went really well! I had spent quite a lot of time preparing so i was confident in my pre-match routine, but I was still fairly nervous.
There were a couple of incidents that I had to deal with. One was one of the...

I have been attending the East Riding (where I live) referee's association meetings as a guest since around October so I have been...
