The Ref Stop

Leeds no penalty

The Ref Stop
That's tough in real time, especially if you are straight on... looks like Stroud has no angle.
Maybe looks to him like the defender gets more ball.
But the angles show a nutmeg and maybe the slightest nick off the def before... clear foul...

In the end the ref has been caught a bit upfield when they've lost the ball too easily close to goal. And he's tried to get across the diagonal but ended up straight downfield when the tackle has happened and it looks like the attacker just left his leg there and dived.

What could he have done? In this case if he'd have tried to get an angle from the "wrong" side I don't know if he would have seen anything...

What a week to Fall Apart in..... Never mind....Not quite done yet....Its a flying Villa on Saturday @alexv

Thought Brentford played very well TBF, Leeds never turned up...

Didnt notice the referee. No surprises that Stroud was the one to get caught out, never seen him have a good game

I lip read him saying 'no chance'.

All I can think is that he doesn't feel the contact was enough to be a foul. I can sort of see why...

I can see why he missed it, but it was a clear foul. Nowhere near the ball, and then swiped Bamford's standing foot.

Penalty for me - can forgive the referee as it took me a slow motion replay (VAR). However as we all said above you don't have slow mo on a Saturday morning and naturally the best way if you and assistants are unsure is always go with the defending team; in this case no pen.
