Can I use a long sleeve undergarment under a short sleeve referee shirt?

Can I use an black long sleeve undergarment during a game I have a short sleeve black referee kit so I was curious if I could wear a black long sleeve undergarments under the short sleeve black referee kit

Yes, I've done that for years. As long as they are both black, and one isn't faded so it looks unprofessional, it will be fine.
 
I've always done the same when the weather warrants it. I personally think it actually looks better than a long sleeved top!

I did once get told by a fellow referee that a certain observer would slaughter me if he saw it, but I'm yet to meet an observer who has an issue with it and I'd like to see how he'd write that in to his report!
 
It used to be common in the PL. Steve Bennett would do it quite a lot. But I'm sure some guidance came out at some point to basically frown upon it.

But technically you're good to do it. Especially at grassroots
 
Best linesman combo is long sleeved under, and long sleeved shirt.

You'll have a chance at keeping warm.

The technical answer is given above. For the common sense answer it depends what level you are refereeing. For low division grassroots, colour matching is a small consideration for me as long as you look/act professional and confident. Keep yourself warm.

On multiple occasions for low division cold night games I have asked my young junior NARs to put something warm on. The only thing variable was their hoodie which was more than acceptable. Players and spectators couldn't care less what the AR was wearing.
