    Fantasy league???

Does anyone think it'd be a good idea to have a fantasy league for refchat members? I've not been involved in one for years so I'm not sure where you can make a league but I'm sure if someone did there would be demand for it with the forum. Anyone any good at setting one up?

    Tournament Notebook

I have a tournament coming up and will be refereeing about 20 short games over the 2 days. I was considering the all weather notebook from refsworld UK . Does anyone have experience of using it?

Totally understand ross. You know your site better than me.

    Assault/Confrontation Section

As much as it pains me to suggest this @Ross , could it be worthwhile having an Assault or confrontation section or something similar. Recently I've noticed a lot of people posting about such incidents and looking for advice and support on what happened. This section would help such serious...

Playing in a dangerous manner inside the penalty area

You can red card for PIADM in the penalty area providing it can be categorised as DOGSO. You have to give IDFK as opposed to PK. Correct in law but may cause a few problems for match control.

    Keeper destroys the Penalty Spot

Are you allowing kicks to still be taken from that side?

    Keeper destroys the Penalty Spot

Seems to be a few debates surrounding KFTPM recently so thought I'd add this to the mix. Keeper destroys the penaly mark...deliberately. What's your next move? Any discipline to keeper? Change sides? Allow retake? Abandon and report?

    Where is offside?

This was my next question. I was watching the scottish junior final and the referee gave the IDFK from the original position in the opponents half, rather than in his own half where he technically committed the offence.

    Where is offside?

Is the idfk taken from where the player was when the ball was played, or where he touched it?

    Ever been booed??

My favourite but most challenging game as a referee with no NARs is CArs was in the knock out regional cup last year. 2nd in division A was playing 3rd bottom of division B. Was called a "f***ing crackpot" and a "cheating w***er" by a guy walking his dog 10 minutes after I sent off a player for...

    3 Incidents - Opinons

Seen this video on YouTube from a game a month or so ago in the Scottish Juniors and wanted your opinions on 3 incidents. Feel the referee can be supported in all of them but would like a little debate on here to see if we all agree. 1:25 - Penalty or Not? And what card are you giving and...

    Shaking the bar at penalty

Seen highlights on a game where a penalty was awarded to blue team. Referee blows whistle to initiate PK but the GK starts jumping up and down and hitting the bar, causing it to shake and vibrate loudly. PK is taken by greens and saved by keeper and play continued. If I were the ref, I would be...

Can't decide if this is offside or not

green defender is standing on his own 6 yard box. He attempts to clear the ball but he hits the back of his own player who is around the penalty spot. The ball deflects off him back towards the goal and A red player, who was already in an offside position with the first clearance, and still is...

    Villa v Everton Penalty

just seen the penalty by Lukaku (sp?) and made me think. The taker seemed to stutter his run, I may have been likely to make him retake it but I'm sure others will disagree and I accept that. However, Given was also a good few yards off his line. If you are referee and both teams infringe the...

Nightmare Incident... Gives me the Campus Cup Final nod!

Technically you may have been wrong in law (if I can remember correctly, I dont have lotg beside me at the moment). You said that player said "f*** off" either to you or his opponent and you cautioned for dissent. I'm almost certain that dissent can only be against the referee and not a...

    get a ref on tv

Although I agree to an extent @haywain about the referees being ignorant part, these pundits are former players most often who have been at the top level. Also, they're being well paid and some of the stuff they suggest is ludicrous. Savage suggested awarding a penalty, booking a player for the...

    get a ref on tv

I've been getting annoyed lately at the lack of understanding if the LOTG by "pundits" on MOTD and Sportscene. Don't you think there should be a qualified referee (probably retired) to help explain decisions and laws? I know some mistakes are completely wrong but for debatable decisions. At...

    Spoke too soon

@Beezer it was the attacker that stopped which gave it away that he knew it was out. He played on but struggled to sell it because the attacked stopped.

Open Age Worst decision you've ever made

In that case I don't think you made a bad decision, the referee did. You have a different angle egc. He is the main decision maker. It happened with celtic, the referee apparently seen a HB, AAR said no and referee went with AAR and it was wrong. Now they are all getting stick.
