Had a game on Saturday with the luxury of ball boys.
Goal kick awarded with no issues and all players run up field to gain position. The ball boy rolls the ball to me as the assistant monitoring the goal kick. Clearly should have gone to the gk. As it was right next to me I kicked the ball...
I had a guy last week with hands above head height slamming the ball. Yellow card. He questioned why as he was protecting his face...
Told him to take one in the face for the team. His team mates agreed. He also laughed when I told him it wouldn't effect his looks!
Did anyone see the Accrington game incident at the weekend?
0-0 and player in the box turns and shoots from about 8 yards as the ball enters or very close to being in the goal the ref blew for half time.
The goa did not count.
Why would he risk his match control by doing this. Appreciate he...
Goal in law as from a throw in
Nothing the ref can do but I don't think he should spent so long talking to the bench. Perhaps a courtesy comment nothing wrong in law so nothing he can do. Kick off, restart game.
He has made the whole situation worse by spending 4 mins justifying it.
What...
It is not norm here but would never cross my mind for car not to give offsides.
How can you be in a credible position as a ref for all offside decisions when the ball is in open play?!
Even being up with play but not in line with the defence will surely end up with you being questioned...
Hi all
Not for the first time I had a club assistant who was giving some suspect offside decisions.
They were not glaringly obvious and his positioning was decent but there was a few that I thought hard about overruling him.
I didn't as this has caused me trouble previously.
I'm in a no...
As an assistant he is part of your team not his club whilst carrying out that role. Any abuse in his direction should be dealt with the same as if he was a neutral assistant.
Unless he is cheating
Strange one today...
Away team make a sub as player enters field the home team start shouting, you can't bring him in he was playing on the other pitch.
The same club had a team playing in the next pitch but in a different league.
Is a player allowed to be named in 2 matches being played at...
Returning next to the original post, is it normal for a coach to email an assistant and ask for them to look after the ref.
I've never had a coach but surely if they felt he wasn't ready for said fixture why did he get appointed to a game that he may be out of his depth?
I know not all leagues require team sheets but I'm surprised the amount of people here who don't indentify the captains before the game?
I always have a 20 second chat to introduce and tell them they are here to help me and their team.
a couple people of late have told me you can take a goal kick from a moving ball.
One was a player so ignored him the second , in a separate conversation was a ref so maybe there is some truth in it??
Can anyone confirm?
Should I be ashamed to ask this!
So my first ever assessment at the back end of last year I was cycling to my game which was about 10miles away. Half way there my bike started to wobble, slowed down and then stopped to check it out.
Had a flat tyre. Grrrr
Did not want to be late for my first ever assessment I stood there dumb...
Hi all
Need some advice/guidance.
Sunday night I was putting through my cautions on the whole game system from the weekends games and as I played about on the website I noticed I had some games from a month or so ago that I had not been submitted.
It seems I must have saved the cautions but...
Hi all
Home team named 3 subs prior to the game.
Second half 1st sub made then a bit later manager asks to make their last sub. I thought strange but maybe he meant that he doesn't intend to bring on the third and therefore his last sub of the match. Sub made.
Only later in the half I...
