Where is the IFK for a passback

Yeah I had one today. Think of it this way, a player could pass it from the halfway line to his goalie he picks it up, IFK is obviously going to be in the box where the GK picked it up, not at the half way line. And as Declan said.....always make sure you do the ceremonial.....or you will...

Was I a bit quick with the second yellow

Yeah have to agree with Ross. Unless its a clear advantage and the player is 9/10 going to score, I would be blowing and showing the cards. Not many players moan when you send off an opposition player.

    Some Goalies

Not sure if anyone remembers my post about a goalie who came clattering into a player and broke his leg. Well anyway had the same team today and the same keeper. U17s. Bout 70 mins keeper picks up a pass back at the edge of the box. Blow for IFK no complaints except from the keeper who was...

    Dissent from injured player

I always say if the 'physio' is more interesting in telling me what card/how bad the tackle is to 'asses your player I am not interested' in a very loud voice. Normally shuts them up.

    Minute silence

The fact it was so quiet then to hear the death march was pretty funny. The guy wasn't challenged as he was a disable war vetran who attended the game. Does not seem much of a tit to me....more that he had forgotten to turn off his phone and really likes star wars. Be interested to see what...

    Minute silence

I was at an ice hockey game last night in Edinburgh and they done the minute silence. Half way through someones phone starts blaring the Imperial Death March from Star Wars. Everyone was in stitches.

    Minute silence

Don't think there is much we can do about it. This would never happen. Even if a player for whatever reason refused, if his whole team were doing the silence....im sure he would just stand at the side of the pitch.....his own team mates would surely be fuming if he started kicking off about it.

    Junior/Youth Foul throws...

Sure I seen Swansea penalised for a foul throw today. I regularly do U13 and U14 and we are told to always call them up and give the other team the ball. The lads do tend to try much harder when they/if they get another throw.

    Keeper Challenge??

I think Roll on Roll of subs are brilliant. Partic for kids. Coaches happily then give everyone a shot(most of the time) and if a player is being a bit mouthy, has a slight niggle or has just been warned by myself, you often see them being taken off to cool down/recover.

Open Age Game tomorrow (assistants question)

Iv took a mate with me to the game before and said 'is it ok if ma pal does the line'. Normally one team is happy they dont have to do it. However he knows that he only signals if the ball is out for a throw and nothing else. Not that anyone would argue with him mind you he is a big lad.

Open Age Game Tomorrow - First One On A New League

103 miles. And I moan when I have to get a bus the other side of Edinburgh for £1.50. I would be letting the sec know ASAP that distance is too far without expenses.

    Keeper Challenge??

I agree that you should always try and get the game to continue. However when a young player breaks(or at least looks like a break) their leg then it changes everything. The players of both teams are concerned and none will concentrate on the game if it does go back on. A delay partic in...

    Keeper Challenge??

Was a bad break. Players all worried and starting to go stiff. Ambulance took 20 mins and remained on the pitch for 40. No choice but to. Both coaches and league sec agreed.

Why are fouls in the penalty area different to fouls outside penalty area?

I think its more to the fact that if there was say a slight push and I was to blow for a pen there would be uproar. Players get pushed in the box and unless its a proper full on push I am unlikely to punish it. More for the reason that the defending team would be furious..... Plus if you are...

    Ladies First Girls Game

Its totally different from a mens game. Like said above there is no 'banter' as such. The games are defo less physical and tend to be much more tippy tappy passing. You tend to get one girl in the team who will scream for everything(my experience anyway) but a lot wont. Also girls do tend to...

What to do when Dissent is shown to you by a Player who is a Qualified Referee?

Had a coach at the start of a game who claimed to be a 'qualified referee'. Moment I walked on to pitch he was huffing about the nets, no corner flags(they arrived in plenty of time) and just other stuff. I had to tell him 'today, im the referee and I will go and check the pitch and if im...

    Keeper Challenge??

I think the player probably took the shot quickly as they seen the keeper coming out. The keepers contact was pretty quick after the players got the shot away hence why I gave the penalty. I did see it more as Reckless rather than Excessive. Thanks for the reply guys

    Keeper Challenge??

Had a game on Saturday. Keeper comes running out and momentum takes him into the attacker who has already got a shot away but only just. Blew for Pen....ball went wide. Caution. Should I have sent him off?? Did not think it was DOGSO as the ball had gone past the post. I must add that he...

    Cards

Top left....notebook and yellow. Back pocket for red. Dont keep 2 sets on me. Like to keep the red in the back of the shorts just to give me a few extra secs to make sure I know its worth a red.
