I m on search for football boots and Im between adidas copa and adidas kaiser. Does any of you use either pair of shoes and do you recommend them?
I have size 12 and wide feet. Adidas have always been the most comfortable boot. Decent insole is the key if you have feet trouble, makes a huge difference. Any ex footballer who played at a standard where you play midweek as well as weekend will always tell you to avoid new boots until you absolutely have too. When it looked like your old boots are on their last legs, get a new pair and wear them in training or just for the 2nd half for a couple of games as a ref. Your feet are your wheels and new boots are the worst thing possible.
I've heard about men with big feet!!!! Big socks!!!I have size 12 and wide feet. Adidas have always been the most comfortable boot. Just checking this wasn't posted by a bot on your account Ben as it makes complete sense!!!
Another mistake people make is wearing new boots for pre season friendlies or early matches when the pitch is rock hard. You wear new boots for the first time when it's wet.
I always wear boots no matter what the pitch is like and never get blisters or any other issues. It might not be to everyone's taste but it is not a hard and fast rule.Don't wear boots at all when the pitch is rock hard. Wear astros, or even black running shoes.
Have you ever tried Astros or "hard ground" boots on rock hard grounds? It's more about getting a bit of extra edge on performance and comfort on one and not so much about discomfort or issues on the other.I always wear boots no matter what the pitch is like and never get blisters or any other issues. The boots I wear are Copa Munddials so they would be considered hard ground boots. I don’t linke the soft ground World Cup ones as the studs stick through eventually and cause discomfort. I also don’t see a huge difference in grip. I wore runners once and hated them. Completely agree with your point about the grass becoming slippery, it is best to be prepared for wet or slippery weather even when the sun is shining!Have you ever tried Astros or "hard ground" boots on rock hard grounds? I don't recommend runners if there is any green grass on the pitch even if the ground is rock hard. Any grass makes it slippery.
Most modern design boots come in at least a few categories. Soft ground, firm ground, hard ground, astro/artificial ground, hard Court... It's more about being able to afford a different boot to match the condition.
your father in law sounds like a wise man.Adidas Copa Mundial all day long, Kaiser's are good but are basically a cheaper version of the Mundial. The Mundial, like the World Cup are made from superior leather (Kangaroo i think). My first pair lasted 6 years (roughly £15 per season). Look after them, clean them after each game, dubbin them and leave it on for 24 hours before brushing off. If you look after them they will last.
My father in law gave me a piece of advice years ago, never scrimp on a mattress or shoes as you spend half you life on your feet and the other half in bed.
