What's your thoughts on this penalty decision
Contact clearly starts outside. So the only two ways you can justifiably give a penalty are either to describe it as a holding offence or to say that the contact outside was not a foul but the contact inside was a foul 😊
 
Yeah, clear the challenge was outside, and player falls inside. Not a holding offense. Do not understand why penalty was given!
 
Its a clear FK outside of PA once we have the benefit of replay from different angles. Real time, from referee angle, i can understanding it. But honestly, VAR, please... I don't like throwing colleagues under the bus but some of these decisions are baffling.
 
I respect your opinion, but I'd be extremely concerned if we were now considering this to be DOGSO.

Saka is aiming to cut in diagonally from the corner of the penalty area and there are at least 2 defenders in the middle to challenge him / prevent him getting a clean shot away.

Can't quite see the number, but the player I've circled is going to be straight on to him if the foul doesn't occur.
