If you watched it, you must agree it was a very entertaining match.
Far better than the bore draw Arsenal seemingly put up.
Thought refereeing was very good, maybe a 9.5/10.
Reasons being, he took no crap from benches (Kompany booked for protesting), keeping them in check. No moaning after by either team. Decision making was very good. Positioning, advantages played, etc.
Only thing I question is the Camavinga sending off. Not disagreeing with it. By no stretch. Play stupid games and whatnot.
Free kick given, dribbles ball away, picks it up and throws it to one of his team mates. Can definitely see argument for delaying restart.
But the fact is... I dont think he remembered he cautioned Camavinga. He was reminded by Bayern players (and potentially other officials via headset) of his previous given caution.
This leads me to think he probably wouldn't have cautioned him if he remembered at the time. Which is wrong. But we will never know.
As said, play stupid games. Win stupid prizes.
And the biggest prize other than the sending off, it hugely contributed to his team conceding twice more and being knocked out.

Yep, fabulous game, and well officiated.

He clearly forgot he'd already booked Camavinga, but it was a clear DRP in my view - and utterly stupid given the previous nailed on and unnecessary YC - so I doubt it would have altered the decision, but it opens up the narrative (as heard on MOTD).

agree with this all, cracking game, well refereed until the red card - he's definitely forgotten he's booked him

didnt help himself at the end either, by blowing when he did with real players around him it almost invited the confrontation (which was entirely predictable)

would have liked to have seen more yellows/reds during the confrontation too, would have been deserved

100% he forgot he had cautioned him, and I'd suggest a very similar percentage chance that he wouldn't have cautioned him again if he had realised.

I only switched over from the Arsenal game at half time, and that's partly because I fell asleep so couldn't turn over, but from what I saw he was pretty good.
