Double caution for dissent

I have to disagree strongly with this: lots of the LOTG is subjective and has to be so by necessity, because it's difficult to write a book that describes in detail every possible thing that could happen on a football pitch. This is a situation where you've shown two consecutive cards and there SHOULD be a clear correct answer, because it's a very distinct situation that will happen.

If you've given two yellow cards, there is a "correct" follow-up action. The fact that many refs don't know what the follow-up action is is a failing of the writing of the LOTG, and I don't think we should let the writers off!
True however you must follow the current guidelines in relation to sin binning... One suggests you look at earlier threads and follow the online links provided by other members on this website..
Do hope this helps.

Still can't work it. I'm pretty sure it's geo coded. I didn't know you can do that on YouTube. I've seen the incident on other highlight sites.

Hi JH..
One is almost completely digital illiterate.. Geo code no idea..
One retreats back to the twilight zone.. One is so sorry about this..

One could try and turn your monitor 180 degrees around, or maybe the coat hanger arial need a walk around the room to give it a boost!!! ;)

What would the procedure be for something like this where you use sin bins? Could you issue a double sin bin yellow and them allow the player to be replaced after 20 minutes? Or would you only give one sin bin in the hope it calms the player down?

Obviously in this match a sin bin would have achieved the same result as a red (apart from the subsequent ban)
Below quotes are all from form the section "Guidelines for temporary dismissals (sin bins)"
Players only
• Temporary dismissals apply to all players (including goalkeepers) but not for cautionable offences (YCs) committed by a substitute or substituted player
A player temporarily off the field of play (including binned) is still consider a 'player'. So a sin bin can apply to a player already in the sin bin and in this example there are two different bin-able offences. Should the bin time be served concurrent or consecutive? the law doesn't say (I wish it did) so take a pick or check your comp rules, it might say. Either way the player can't come back at the end and can only be replaced if the team has more subs allowed.

There are some unclear statements in the lotg regarding "yellow cards" in the context of sin bin.
Referee’s signal
• The referee will indicate a temporary dismissal by showing a yellow card (YC) and...
We show yellow cards for sin bin.

A player who has been temporarily dismissed and then receives a caution (YC) continues playing
The non-clarity is from the fact that prior to sin bin, the law considered cautions and yellow card the same thing. If you are cautioned, you get a yellow card. If you get a yellow card, you are cautioned. Looking at the last two quotes, in the case of a sin bin, even though you get a yellow card, it is not a caution (also the fact that two sin-bin yellow cards is not a red card). Its something the law needs to clarify in its wording for sin bin. But the intent is fairly clear, a yellow card for sin bin does not have the same implications as a yellow card for other cautionable offences.

However, do not forget that a blue card is also used in sin binning offences too. Blue cards are for small sided football 5, 6, 7 aside football, English version of small sided football, played indoor or outside. Blue cards also used in some Disability competitions. Blue cards used in Walking football which is currently still under development as a new edition to the football family. Frame football I beleive will come in the future.

Small sided football internationally is so beleive Futsal, no sin bin offences but time outs allowed in this type of football, however an accumulation of offences against a team applies..

In this country many different types of football played.. in England

1. Main football. Depending on age group playing starting from under 11's upwards to veterans, to the 11 a side game etc.
2. Mini soccer. Younger age groups.
3. Small sided football 5, 6, 7 a side england..
4. Futsal
5. Blind football
6. Visually impaired football
7. Cerebral palsy football
8. Specific learning difficulties
9. Deaf football
10. Amputee football
11. Power chair/wheelchair football.
12. Beach soccer.
13. Walking football development stages..
14. Frame football coming in the future..

Note:
3 coloured cards and card shapes also used in football...

Blue, yellow and red.. cards used sometimes to accommodate the needs of the different players and referees..

E.g. colour blindness

Different sizes for the pitch, court of play etc.

Different size balls and pressure requirements..

Different kit requirements..

Different laws for the type of Football being played and other regulations/rules for that type of Football being developed...

As a Referee I look at the type of Football being played. Competition Rules oh and the correct badge for that type of football. I'm officiating in
E.g blue badge small sided. Black badge 11 a side. Green badge Futsal etc...

What colour cards do they show in blind football?? Asking for a friend?? :)

Red and yellow...in B1 catergory..

Here is the link for information..happy reading..

Referees do show cards in these games so look at some clips in you tube to observe the referees actions.

In deaf Football, as the head referee I carried a flag in the middle for a competition.

Those players could not hear a whistle.. I waved a flag and so did my two other refereeing colleagues who were the assistant referees..

However the general public observing could have formed the opinion, look at the Referee in the middle carrying a flag. They have not got a clue!!!! However the Referee done the job correctly..

Amputee football, lower limb amputees another example I could use the defender deliberately touches the ball with their crutch.. in the box.. as the crutch is an extension of the arm/ hand ball infringement applies.. penalty kick to follow.... goal keepers are upper limb amputees.. again do look online, this may have changed....

In my earlier post about different types of football played in england..

Remember I stated Referees should check the laws and competition rules for the types of football they are officiating in and always ensure that a competition/ league etc is affiliated. Keep your self safe.. your knowledge is priceless..

Please also do go online.. all the laws for the different types of football and ongoing regulations/rules for the development stages for the new additions to the football family should be available online, if not, County F.A's, F.A's for your individual countries or just pop into the refs chat room here.

The delightful Referees in this virtual family could be able to assist somehow??

Do hope this information helps somehow.. oh kindly do not misunderstand moi...

One just enjoys the beautiful game in all of its formats, magical moments and endless treasures it produces..

Lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

I have been informed on plenty of occasions....
All of the folowing...

1. Players and the Referees are getting changed in here. .. you are not allowed...o.k.

2. The Referees have not arrived yet.. however if you wait here security will escort you to the changing room on a different site!! When I ask why I'm heading to a different site?? The reply ......
"Are you not the tennis court judge?
"Spectators are not allowed in here"
"Oh the basket ball courts are over the road"... thanks for letting me know..

3. "Excuse me Ref but I used to be a Ref" we only use red and yellow cards.. you should not be a Ref, you don't know the laws for the game..hmm

4. You are not allowed on the field of play.... only the Ref is allowed on the field of Play... thanks for letting me know... I will inform the Ref as soon as I can....

4. Are you the Home/Away manager? Official from the club, field marshal or the representative for the spectators?
No and I replied keep going you will get to me eventually.......

5. Turned up to a 1 day charity small sided football event and was asked are you in fancy dress??..........

So in a nutshell... would A&H or any of those other fine companies providing referees kits like a new catalogue model on the field of play, obviously dressed professionally or shabby chic doesn't cut it....

Lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol
