I did see a comment on fb questioning if he made it all the way to his own goal, judging by the video on Sky Sports, he finally stopped rolling just inside his own half, utterly ridiculous!
VAR would look at that from multiple angles, each repeated countless times and slowed down frame by frame and still struggle to reach a decision. Tough one for the referee, one look, one angle, both players flying in, hard to disagree with his decision really.
Kind of reminds me of another incident pre-VAR involving my beloved team, but not going to elaborate to avoid derailing the conversation (unlike another member I could mention) as this is about Gillingham vs Fleetwood!
