Censorship
Curious here....

In this fixture, Middlesbrough were denied a goal because the assistant informed the referee that the striker punched the ball in rather than headed it.
Replay for me, on a dodgy internet line, looks inconclusive but leaning more towards he did than not by body positioning and how he could have made contact.

What's your opinions?

Highlights in news article. Quite early in..

If he seems it handball surely he should have faced some further punishment too?

I agree the angle isn't great but considering his body, couldn't be shoulder.

But what about a sanction on the player? Should he have got a yellow for attempting to score with his hand and attempting to deceive officials (as that is the outcome they effectively came out with).

Proof that the ref was not sure

He went via his assistants advice.
He wasn't sure but if his assistants 100% certain, and he goes with it, he should back him up with the correct sanction.

Took 2 screenshots where these are the two frames literally before and after.... Can't see much difference between the two photos but can show it was not a head or shoulder used and only "plausible" body part is an outstretched arm.
You can actually see the assistants flag go up immediately which is a good sign.

Just read on the Middlesbrough forum, can't find anything on the Brentford one, that the Middlesbrough player didn't touch it, it was an OG but apparently it was given as a foul against the forward.
Explains why there would be no card if it was just a foul - but where is the foul? I don't see one.
