My shift work means I can only really do 30 weekends a season, so I'm unsure whether I will ever be able to make the jump from L5-L4 purely from a commitment basis, but I'd really like to give it a go. Something for me to ponder!
As a level 5 who does shift work including weekends and evenings, I know exactly how you feel! I have unpredictable finishing times too which basically rule out evening fixtures unless it’s my day off, and with two young kids it’s hard to find the time as it is - so I’m pleased to have got 40+ matches in this year and think L4 would be a step too far.

I’m just happy with what I’ve got and to be honest, I question whether I have it in me to take football ‘seriously’ - it’s fun on the side at the end of the day for me. But if you manage to find the time then good luck! There are a lot of talented L5s out there

The Ref Stop
Just a view from another stream of football. This season saw the first referees to officially qualify as Walking Football Referees with its own FA registration. I personally delivered 10 WF Referee courses across Lincolnshire, Northumberland, Lancashire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Staffs so have had a very busy season as a Referee Developer. Refereed in the first ever FA Walking Football Cup in regional rounds and on finals day including a middle in one of the finals. This season has seen great strides in establishing the FA qualification for WF referees after many years hard work behind the scenes. Still lots of work to be done but certainly a milestone year.

Hi everyone,
I'm a referee in Spain and wanted to share my statistics for the season. Overall I think I've had a good season, ending it with being selected for taking the promotion course(exams + physical tests) to 6th tier football. If I get promoted, this means that I would start having assistants with me in my games, instead of being just me.

Centre ref overall: 80 games
Centre ref in my division: 13 games ( we rotate and ref every 2-3 weeks. There are 30 match days)
Assistant referee: 22 games
Yellow cards: 204
Red cards: 8

Please feel free to share your own stats and how the season has gone for you.

Hi, an a bit late to the party for this but my season was good. Small spell of injury, shin splints I seem to get after 4G pitches...
Anyway, I did 47 matches (down 17 from last year) youth and open age, fewer ladies matches than last year
25 🟨
4 🟥
May go for L5 next year, currently enjoying the time off
