Hi all,

Any thoughts on Sprintso watches? Is it possible to use it for sin bins? Which model to buy?

I got apple watch with refsix on it, but it doesn't work in the rain and causes me problems. Plus observers don't like when referees use watches.

The Ref Stop
I have one. Loved it at first but ended up back with my original casino referee timer. The watch face and accordingly the unit are massive.
I don't think, happy to be corrected, that you can do sin bin timing on the spintso.

I've got one and use it.

Its got a massive face on it and shows count up and count down together which is handy.

Vibrate function for stopping the watch to remind you to restart is valuable as well.

No ability to add in a separate timer for sin bins.

All in all it works well for what I use it for and I'm happy with it, but I can see why it's not for everyone.

I have one. No to sin bin times. I really like mine and use it religiously.

Good points, as said, large face, count up and down. Also half time counter - which you can set and/or forget if the break is shorter no problem (which it always is where I am), and the added time at the end of the game function is great. Buzzers to start, stop and at half/full time also great. Easy to clean strap. Easy to change match length.

Neutral, the tracking injury time feature, no one I know uses it. Good idea - but it just doesn't gel with how we calculate/monitor injury time in the real world. Changing the battery is a pain but doable with care. The light is so so. As above, at the end of the game, you get a buzzer and the clock carries on with a clear indicator of added time - if you haven't stopped the watch for all injuries/subs - which no one does - this only works if you set the match to 3 halves! On one hand, works fine, but on the other, really - that's a feature!?!

Bad, the main button (the bottom left one - you know, which is like the first button you would press), the main button... changes... wait for it... the time zone. And not with a fancy press and hold or hold another button either... it changes the time zone to daylight saving time and back, so by an hour. The button is the most likely to be pressed accidentally (esp if worn on left hand with a wrist band).... the long and the short is... you never know what time it is with this watch. It could be 10, or it could be 9... or 11... depending on whether DST is on or off, and if you can remember if your current time zone is active with DST, or not. For this, the designers should be pelted with tomatoes. It really is criminal that they could make such a great watch and balls this up.

A Spinsto + with easy battery replace, 2 halves with running added time, hidden DST/time zone changes, better light... it would be a no brainer.
YMMV.
