Who records Subs if there is no AR?

Hi guys. I was just wondering who records the subs if there is no registered AR. Can the unofficial club linesman record the subs or must the referee do it in this case?

The Referee Store
So the referee is expected to stop play, go to the touch line, note down the substitution and then come back to the middle and restart play?

And check the incoming players equipment and that the name is the same as you had been given prior to kick off. And if both clubs want to make a substitution and they are on opposite sides of the FOP, you are expected to run across to deal with them separately.

That is really annoying when it happens.

Sometimes I try to lighten the mood by saying the coaches are a bit mean for making me run over, but my comedic timing isn't appreciated. :(
