I have never refused a fixture whether it be Referee, AR or Observer - I trust those who make the appointments.Hi everyone ,
I am 16 and have reffed around 60 games total.
On Saturday I have been appointed to my first u-18 game ( the oldest I have reffed is u-16 . Shall I reject the fixture ??
The obvious question is ...... why do you feel you should reject the appointment?Hi everyone ,

Probably need some context offered around why you think you should reject it.Hi everyone ,

Or your county's alternative if it's not an armband.… But…. Please make sure you wear an U18s armband. .
Funnily enough I coach a 16yo who is refereeing open aged. He's a very young looking lad, but he doesn't want to wear the armband. His logic is that he doesn't want anyone to treat him differently because he's young. My son did his first open aged game aged 16, and now aged 17 is going for his level 4.
His first game was a bit of an experience, but use of the book in the second half settled everything down.
As others have said, if you feel ready, go for it… But…. Please make sure you wear an U18s armband. And remember, you’re in charge, and don’t stand for any dissent.
Understand his approach, but the armband is a potential deterrent to abuse as any penalties/sanctions are at least doubled when the referee wears their Under-18 armband. If they don't wear it, the sanctions are not increased, even if the club know that the referee is under 18.Funnily enough I coach a 16yo who is refereeing open aged. That part seems stupid to me. Though I guess there are proof issues the powers that be dont want to deal with.Understand his approach, but the armband is a potential deterrent to abuse as any penalties/sanctions are at least doubled when the referee wears their Under-18 armband.
