    MJP Appoinment

This should be an interesting game. Kidderminster Harriers Vs Lemington Hibs U13s with 4 x 20 mins I have a higher level referee on one line and the Chief Exceative of the Worcestershire FAon the other line, how the hell did I get stitched up with this one.

Open Age Shirt in or out?

Appearance means everything as a referee. If you appear untidy and scruffy then you will struggle to sell decisions even if they are correct. Go out looking the part as if your on tv at Wembley on the FA Cup a Final you will get more respect, a better mark, an easier game, and a better...

    Touch line flags

Old rubber handles any day. Much better in weight and comfort. Plus easy to hold when ur hands re freezing the new plastic handle type are easy to drop when ur hands get cold and just don't feel right. The handle is massive co paired to the flag

Should the game off been played?

I watched the game on BT Sports, I didnt even know the game was on TV until i found it by accident so i though i will watch that and as soon as I saw the pitch I thought how the hell is he playing this game. The conditions were terrible, and effected play so much, the game should never of been...

Free Kicks about 9.15 metres (10 yards in old money) outside the penalty area

On free kicks I was told by one of our RA members who refs on the FL that you tell the kicker that your assistant is watch and will inform you if the ball is moved. (will only work with NAR) And then he counts out load whilst stepping forward ie. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc..... When he gets to 9 he says...

    Non active rolls

Thanks, It would seem that I have managed my first game back very well, a tough top of the table clash in Div 1, a real end to end game, and my heart rate at almost 90% for 90 mins. I was very surprised I felt great after the game, and have since done another game and I am due back out this...

    Polar RS400 Foot Pod

I have a RS400 complete with Foot Pod, which measures distance run. I want to use it along with the heart rate monitor to get a more complete picture of my refereeing activity on the pitch. The problem is I can't wear the Foot Pod on my boots as it will be easily noticed, by assessors. I had...

    Reports

When I first passed my exam we had to write reports out in duplicate and post the CFA. So I am unsure with these new multi cautions forms, yes very quick and a great tool. But What do I do now???? I cautioned a player for dissent today and then sent him off for a second caution, for dissent...

    Non active rolls

Finally had my appointment through for next Friday, the letter tells me to be dressed for running on a treadmill. After some searching online I found out that the test is likely to be the Bruce Test. Which consists of running on a treadmill at various speeds and incline whilst connected to an...

    A job for anyone

I could and can still see the business opportunity in Kleenzee however the return to start with is very small, and the work hard, but then nothing is ever given to you on a plate. I worked part time as well and was given more hours and I earn more money per hour at work than delivering...

    A job for anyone

I did some Kleeneze and really enjoyed it. In fact it helped me get back to some sort of fitness with the delivering and collecting. I made a fair bit of money, but to make a living out of it you would need to either have some great customers who spend loads or deliver a lot of books a day...

    Maintaining concentration

Mike also said that when he works with Howard, they do not write anything down. Howard records cautions as does the 4th, but his ARs have to remember the cautions, and he often during the game asks for him to tell him the cautions, for example red 5,7 and 9 blue 6 etc....

    Maintaining concentration

Indeed they do.... I attended our County FA RA-FA conference last night with guest speaker Mike Mullarkey said he knows a lot of his colleagues that use an elastic band and give it a tweek now and again.
