Does anyone use tech in game?

i have an apple watch 2nd gen that i use to track my movement etc....... i know that there is a refereeing app (GOREF) with you can use to track time as well as record goals, subs and cards with, but i haven't used it.

has anyone else? or used slimier?

Thanks
Mo

The Referee Store
I use a Fitbit charge hr which tracks heart rate, calories burned, steps and miles which I can look at after a game, once I've synced it

Reflive is a better app than GoRef in my opinion

Samsung Gear watch for me, which (as far as I've found) doesn't actually have any specialist refereeing apps on it, but does track distance, heart rate etc., plus obviously working as a watch as well!

I am on polar v800 myself. Very smart piece of kit but it is essentially a watch which tells u a little more than a standard watch. Wouldnt have any other now though i dont think.

Spintso watch on right arm and Apple Watch on left in game. Use Apple Watch for straight countown from 45 + after match calories, HR, distance summary etc.

Don't fancy any of the apps out there on iOS - nor do I fancy carrying my phone on the field. Already had a little stick for my "posh Apple Watch" once so recording a caution on my phone would be high risk.

Casio watch from argos on one wrist. TomTom runner on second so I can track my distance and ref sheets to write on

Jellybeans, yeah jellybeans, sort of low-tech really..... like little energy boosters! Share them out if you like, share the low-tech sugar rush!!

Spinsto to the left of me, Garmin Forerunner to the right, here I am...

The Spinsto is great except for actually telling the time. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make the primary button a short tap to change to summer time should be shot at dawn. Next time you ask a Spinsto wearer the time, check out the pause while they have to double check that they haven't accidentally changed time zones! But Count up, Count down, additional time, set half time interval, buzz reminders during additional time. All good. But...

The other annoying thing though is if you don't use the additional time feature and decide to e.g. play 3 mins because of subs, then after the 90 mins is up, neither the up or down clock carry on, so you don't know the game time anymore! Very, very daft. The count up clock should really carry on. This is also an obvious flaw IMHO along with the DST button. Both these things should be fixed. AFAIK there is not a user fix.

The Garmin does distance, calories, intervals, HR etc. The GPS/sync software and maps are easy to use. The tracking maps (on the field) look pretty good - though I detect that they don't show quite the extreme ends of runs so e.g. maps understate diagonal movement. In other threads it has been discussed whether these are accurate or not. My guess is +/- 15%. Probably all GPS devices as we know them struggle with ref movement but it's still a good guide.

thanks.....will give it a try.

GoRef app works on the watch without the need to carry your phone, the same as the in built exercise tracker.

I tried the refsix app. The app is good, but everytime ive used it in a match the battery on my waych has died so never get the chance to sync the data back to my phone, though i suspect it might be ok if i only took the watch off charge just before leaving the changing rooms.

Anyway, I use a spintso on my left wrist and polar v800 on my right.

The v800 i just leave to run and record distance etc.

I see nothing wrong with the the new generation tec your saving money for the amounts of paper you have to keep buying each season

Hardly that expensive and especially inrain it's not good let me get something that is not breakable in the rain and I'm saving money

Configure 3 intervals. Problem solved.

So, I know I'm bumping up a really old topic, but for those who do use smartwatches in game, which app do you find best? RefLive, RefSix, or something else?

My wife spoiled me and bought me an Apple Watch for Christmas (I used to have one until some financial difficulties meant I had to sell it), and was playing around a mock match around the house with RefLive, and thought it might do the job once I get comfortable with it (hence the mock match)
