Leeds v Villa

Not good at all, but as players you should never stop until the ball is actually dead. Bielsa should probably get a lot of credit for ordering the uncontested goal, just as Jansson should be pilloried for being the only player in white to try and stop it.

The red card will be overturned and hopefully Bamford is charged.
Ironically, there’s a clip from this season of Villa doing the exact same thing but the keeper saved it... Must try and find it again

Play the whistle. Fair goal. Bielsa shouldn't have let them walk the goal in. Too many diving, prima donnas looking for the foul these days.

Let’s hope the FA grow a pair and get this sort of play acting to get fellow professional players sent off sorted. It’s hard enough as it as for referees without this creeping in to our game... don’t care which team it is, it must be stopped 👍

Just don't stop the game. Physio comes on, in play. If a serious injury he alerts referee. If game stopped player either has to wait x amount of time or cannot return.
If physio deliberately interferes with play, penalty to opposition.

They should ban him for 4 games. That should see to it.

As well as punishing individual players, they should punish the team via points deductions. That might see some players think twice about their actions.

He's guessed on a red card, seen the action and Bamford go down and thought he could just put 2&2 together...
Putting 2&2 together can only get you 4, or 22 if you are thinking outside the box. The problem is he came up with 25. The arm/hand wasn't even close to his face, it brushed the chest.

Wonder what the punishments will be. Surely Villa will get a ‘failing to control players’ after their reaction as well as John Terry swearing at Bielsa AFTER Leeds gave them the goal. Bamford should get a ban for the dive and their red rescinded, although Hourihane probably should’ve got a red but got a yellow

I used to be indecisive but now i'm not so sure

Not only has Bamford dived, he's also grabbed Hourihane round the neck and thrown him to the ground moments before. So the FA have got a nice VC charge there if they want it

Throw the book at him.... make an example to all these kids watching... , don’t fake injury in front of the cameras.

Make the ban for Bamford longer that the VC ban - give him the 3 match ban from the Villa player + 1 for good measure = 4 matches . His season should be over (and fine him 4 weeks wages as well)...

The only way to stop this cheating is for the punishment to be worse that the original crime. :dead:

Imagine there was VAR at this match, it could have been 9v9 with 30 mins of added time with the footage they would have to review. ;)

It’s a great idea. But I don’t think it would work outside top divisions. Lower down where Mr or Ma Magic Sponge is a sweary cheaty coach... hmmm

Exactly why the caveats of deliberately Intrrfering or Consequence of stopping the game unnecessarily are for.
Plus its not so much an issue at grassroots. I hardly ever have to call a "physio" on.

Think there'll be about 5 VC cases if they're going to punish that. Hourihane was definitely lucky to get away with just a yellow for how he grabbed Klich by the shirt/neck and seemed to punch him in the chest. To be fair to the ref, no one in the ground had a clue what was going on either...

I’m not sure there were that many based on the footage. Bamford and Hourihanes yes, but bar that it’s was just a load of guys giving the big one pushing each other and grappling. Grabbing someone round the neck and chucking them to the ground is just as bad as a punch in the stomach, arguably worse

Bamford rightly charged and the red card rightly rescinded. Not sure how Hourihane got away with what he did though! Even Villa vans are calling him lucky
